New York Review and Thanksgiving Miracle

We had such an incredible trip to New York. Every time I go to a fun city I get the urge to move there. I think most people are the same. The only problem is when I got back to SF the weather was so pleasant… All the cute boutiques in the world can’t compete with this weather.

Anyway, here is a quick run through of our trip, complete with a Thanksgiving Miracle. We got to JFK and my brother came to pick us up and take us to his house in Hoboken, NJ. They live in a cute brownstone and Liz has decorated the place way cute. The next morning Liz took us on a small tour around Hoboken and then dropped us off at the PATH station. We dropped our stuff off at the Hotel and went to Rickshaw Dumplings, where we ate the best dumplings of our lives. Right after that we went to the Martha Stewart Show. Then I went down to ABC Carpet & Home. It was my first time there and I fell in love. I would like to be buried there. I spent three hours there! Then we met up with some friends Aubrey and Greg and went and had Thai food.

The next day we went to City Bakery for breakfast. The homemade marshmallows were amazing. We stopped by ABC really quick to pick up some things I had been eying the day before. Then we spent the next few hours going through Soho. There were so many awesome stores. Especially the stationery stores, so awesome.

We went to our Hotel in the afternoon to get our bags so we could go up to Westchester for Thanksgiving. Since we had our big bags we decided to take a cab to Grand Central. We had walked ten feet into Grand Central when I realized my purse with everything in it was gone. I had left in in the cab! We called a billion agencies and filed reports and lots of other stuff you don’t want to be doing the night before Thanksgiving. When we finally took the train up to Westchester we weren’t in the best mood.

We stayed at my sister’s house. Gabby, has the best taste out of anyone I know. I spent a good part of my younger years trying to figure out how to be more like her. Her house is incredible.

We ate Thanksgiving at Josh and Erin’s house. Erin is an awesome cook so we had the most gourmet Thanksgiving ever. It was so yummy. Gabby decorated the table and it was so beautiful.

We were hanging out afterwards when someone called my brother’s cell phone saying they had my purse. So my brother-in-law Ben took us all the way over to Long Island where there was this awesome family who found my purse and had made all these phone calls trying to find me. They had looked online and found my blog! They eventually found my brothers’s blog which had a phone number. Hooray for blogs! It was totally a Thanksgiving Miracle.

{A special thanks to Singh and his family for doing all the investigative work and for everyone giving me referrals on places to go.}

    my husband patrick (who used to work with gabby) left his cell phone in a cab and on the train…both times it was found and returned to him. something like that puts your faith into ny!
