Weekend in Sonoma with Jerry Springer

This weekend was long and exhausting and good. Friday afternoon I took the ferry from SF up to Vallejo where Paul picked me up to take me to the gala. (I looked way hot.) The gala was great. The food was fantastic (four course meal) and they had a silent auction with one of each 40 of the artist’s pieces. It is crazy the way these guys throw around money.

That night we stayed at the guest home of a very nice family in Sonoma. Their house was amazing. Here is a picture of the guest house which sits on the lake and is 50 yards from a huge vineyard. The family house isn’t shown but is up the hill. Their house is so well designed and extraordinary but so unpretentious and comfortable. Really, one of the coolest houses I’ve ever seen. We were so busy so I didn’t have time to get pictures, but luckily the family invited us up to stay with them anytime.

Saturday, we were in the park all day long for the art exhibit. Paul’s stuff was moving slowly (they put us in this far corner of the park.) Perhaps the highlight of the whole weekend was when Paul leans over to me and says, “Tell me that guy looking at my paintings isn’t Jerry Springer.” I looked, and in fact there was Jerry standing a few feet away. He didn’t buy anything of Paul’s but he bought a large one of this other artist’s.

You should have threw a chair and said, “You’re my baby’s daddy!” – maybe that would have gotten his attention…
