A Foundation for Holiday Decorating

I love when Holiday decorating is kind of subtle….

A Foundation for Holiday Decorating | Oh Happy Day!

I love to add “spooky” things for Halloween or Fall things for Thanksgiving but lately I’ve been doing more of a subtle vibe. Instead of redecorating our home for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, we’re starting with a foundation of versatile pieces that go with everything. Then we can build on it with a few festive accents each month. Target‘s fall line is perfect for this. They’ve got great basics that are really affordable. We stocked up on lots of metallic, black and white items that fit seamlessly into our home but also look great with more seasonal items (like this gold skull.) How do you decorate for the holidays?

The skull not only sets a nice spooky tone for Halloween, but also serves as an emergency prop for any impromptu Shakespearean plays you might need to put on 😉
