Wrapped Drink Bottles

I absolutely fell in love with this wine packaging and it inspired me to wrap small drink bottles for my son Oliver’s upcoming birthday party. It’s the perfect way to add some color to the table and it’s so easy to do!Β While trying out a few bottles I realized rice paper works a little bit better than tissue paper. It’s a little stronger so when you twist the paper around the bottle it won’t tear as fast. I decorated the paper with three different techniques: markers, bingo dots, and paint rollers. Which one is your favorite?

Materials needed: rice paper (or tissue paper), marker, bingo dot markers, paint with paint roller.

Technique 1. Create a pattern with markers: lines, little dots, little lines…anything goes.
Technique 2. Create a pattern with bingo markers. This is super easy for kids to help with (the design for this technique was made by Oliver with bingo markers and small marker lines)
Technique 3. Roll some paint on random places of the paper, leaving some white space too, to create a fun painterly effect.

Choose a technique and decorate a sheet of paper. Place a plastic or glass bottle in the middle of the sheet and pull the 4 corners up around the bottle. Twist the paper so that it hugs the shape of the bottle.
