Bunny Cupcake Toppers DIY

by Chiara Alberetti Milott

A band of bunnies? A round of rabbits? A handful of hares? A crew of cottontails? Whatever you want to call them, these cupcake toppers are very easy and very cute  – and all you need are five simple supplies. How sweet will these look on the dessert table this Easter?!

Materials needed: white pom-poms, colored paper – white, pink, saffron yellow, toothpicks, glue, scissors.

Step 1: Cut out two white ears, about 3/8″ x 1″.
Step 2: Cut out two pink inside-of-ear pieces, about 1/8″ x 5/8″. Glue onto the larger white ear pieces.
Step 3: Glue the pom-pom to the toothpick (gently insert into pom-pom and squeeze to secure).
Step 4: Glue the ears to the top of the pom-pom.
Step 5: Cut out a little bow-tie, about 5/8″ x 1/8″.
Step 6: Apply a dab of glue to the back of the bow-tie, attach to toothpick. Let dry.

Step 7: Insert into cupcakes and enjoy.

in Love with your photography! i appreciate that you make most of the photos smaller in size – and leave the really great ones for a larger format. so fun to look at

Simple but rather adorable! I’m thinking about replacing the cotton in mine with something similar yet edible. Any suggestions?

I would say that this is the simplest and by far the cutest way to perk up Easter cupcakes! My only problem now is how to make cupcakes that are that good to decorate! Better Google a great cupcake recipe NOW!
