Giant Fringe Number DIY

At every party I throw, I like to add a little something that wows everyone. Whether it’s a unique backdrop, funny prop, or colorful garland, these additions don’t have to be difficult to make. They should just be bold enough to help the guests remember the event. I love this giant fringe number because it has the look of a pinata but takes 1/10th of the time. I also like that it makes a big impact. The whole project took a little more than an hour and all the supplies were things I already had in my party closet which makes things easy if you like to do things last minute like I do.

Click through to find the complete instructions.

Materials: Butcher Paper, Cardboard, Folds of Crepe Paper, Scissors, Glue, Ruler

Step 1: Using a ruler, draw a large number of your choice on white butcher paper and cut it out. Glue some strips of cardboard to the back, especially at the top and bottom to add sturdiness and hold shape.
Step 2: Make your fringe. (See complete steps here to make easy fringe.) Starting at the bottom of the number add a line of glue and then adhere a some fringe. Repeat in layers going up until you get to the top.
Step 3: Attach a string and hang at your party.

Also, don’t miss this fun fringey wall monogram, still one of my favorites.

Perfect! I have been stuck looking for something perfect for a party I’m throwing Saturday that wouldn’t be too tricky, but still look great. Thanks!
