Grown Up Tea Party

We threw a baby shower for our friends Alexis and Paul last week. We decided to have it at Craftsman and Wolves, an amazing new restaurant near our studio. The chef William Werner is an artist and makes amazing food. Their presentation is perfect so I knew it would be a great place to hold a party. We decided to make it like a grown-up sophisticated tea party for all of their friends. Craftsman and Wolves set up these beautiful wooden three-tier party trays with the most beautiful sweet and savory treats. I made a big garland with eucalyptus from the flower market for the table but other than that we just had to show up. Sometimes it is nice to throw a party where all you do is get dressed and show up.

    Hi,

The place looks cosy and warm. I like the green leaves on the tables. I would like to try the things from the menu – it’s a pity your place is so far away from here.

    Cheers!

Beautiful! I threw a baby shower last weekend too, and stayed away from the traditional baby themes. I absolutely love those tiered stands!

I am obsessed with this post and actually sent it to my mother (not creepy, I swear). My bridal shower is next weekend and I am having a ladies tea-party and was so excited to see that other people are sharing in my obsession with this idea. My interpretation is a little more traditionally English (Lady Mendi’s, NYC) than Craftsman & Wolf, but I am adoring them for their take on it! AWESOME!

What a beautiful setting! I’m dying to try the Valrhona Macaron! I LOVE Valrhona chocolate. I lived in that area of France for a time and grew to adore their chocolate.

That’s really pretty – I love the simplicity of the green of the garland against the natural wood of the stands.

this is the best kind of party – to just dress up and then show up.

I love the idea of a tea party. It’d be nice to get away from usually alcohol infused parties for the waistline! (Not that I don’t love a good wine tasting…but I find tea just as elegant)

Gorgeous idea for an alternate to the “classic” baby shower! I’ll have to forward this to my friends, they will be throwing one for me in a few months 🙂 But if this is a baby shower, where is at least a photo of the gorgeous pregnant mama??
