Thinking of Fall

Maybe its the chill in the air here and maybe its all the new Fall clothes in all the windows but I’m starting to think of Fall clothes. My friend Aubrey is a great dresser and I always thought she just had great taste. But hanging out with her the last few weeks I realized she definitely has great taste but she also puts a lot of time into shopping. She doesn’t necessarily buy expensive things but takes the time to go to thrift stores and shops. It made me remember that if you want to be good at something you just have to spend more time on it (obvious, but I forgot!) This Fall I want to wear more long skirts, vintage hats, lots of herringbone blazers, and stripes still look good to me. I also need help with jewelry. I am the worst at accessorizing. I’m going to spend a little more time on putting a wardrobe together, we’ll see if it works.

I will always, always love stripes. Even my wedding dress was striped!

(Looking forward to the stripe trend settling down, though, so I’m not yet ANOTHER gal wearing them around town!)

It’s tough to look at fall when we live in Vegas and it won’t be fall-like until maybe, ummm, late November but I’m with you and the long skirts. Just wondering what shoes (that hopefully I already own) I can wear with them.

    Thought?

even though I really love summer, fall fashion is the greatest. I think going through your closet and trying to mix and match, get some inspiration you’ll have no problem looking great. I also love stripes. Once I started to count my striped shirts, but I think I stopped once I hit 15 or something. Still though, I feel like there’s a lot of stripe combinations that I don’t have..

What is it about JCrew. I just love everything they put out. It’s chic, stylish and has an effortless-but-thoughtful quality. Thanks for the reminder to invest in ourselves.

Fall is the best time to buy new clothes–I don’t think I’ll ever grow out of that “back to school” feeling of wardrobe reinvention! As for Paris, I was there for Study Abroad during the Fall 2003 semester, and I loved how, as the weather got cooler, the ads with boobs were slowly replaced with ads for warm-and-toasty thong underwear. I LOVED that!!! I think of that every year now as the leaves begin to change. So delightfully Parisian.

What font do you use when you put descriptions in your pictures? I just love it!
    Thanks!

I’m trying to find a long skirt like this one, I’m digging it. Also, stripes are forever as far as I’m concerned.

I’m thinking about Fall too! I’m going back to school to get my Bachelor of Education and I have to dress like a teacher (business casual). I’m only 21 and have spent the last 11 years or so in jeans and t-shirts. I’m nervous, but excited too!

I like your fall picks. However, although I don’t know you, based on all the cute pictures of you on this blog in striped shirts, full skirts, fun headbands and flats- you look pretty put together already!

I second Kim’s comments. Of the pictures I’ve seen, you already look super cute/ pretty/ put together! Not to mention I love your interior design taste as well.

I want to be better at dressing, too! I keep thinking about being more stylish and put together but haven’t done anything about it. And you’re right it’s going to take work; the clothes won’t just appear in my closet! Fall is a good time to begin this endeavor. I love fall clothes so much more than summer clothes.

The long pleated skirt in that monochrome outfit is just GORGEOUS. And what adorable styling from Steven Alan! Thank you for adding 3 more items to my already extensive list of Fall must-haves…

Fall (autumn to me as a Brit!) is my absolute favourite season. I love shopping for tights, boots and light scarves!

I need help accessorizing, too. I tend to feel like the jewlery wears me, instead of the other way around. In my fantasy, one day I will have a stylist.
