I love maps! I want to put one up in a big playroom for my kids, so thanks for the link!

My husband and I do the same thing! Except we weren’t as crafty: Our map is from Pottery Barn (a Christmas gift a few years back). We use different color pins to indicate places we’ve been together, versus destinations we traveled to sans spouse.

when they have visitors they can take a picture of them pointing to the place they are from.

You can see our version in our son’s room via the link. We each have a different color pin. My son refuses to travel anywhere he’s already been as he wants new pins 🙂

I put up a map in our family room upstairs. Since it was so big the frame idea was a little tricky. So I just did a fake frame that my brother taught me. Easy and cheap. See here: http://familyreeder.blogspot.com/2008/03/isaac-would-be-so-proud.html

I’ve always wanted to do this! Such a great idea, especially as a couple. To see all the places you’ve gone. LOVE it.

Hey, Jordan, it’s Michelle’s mom and I am following her request to let everyone know how clever she is :). But that’s why you two are such good friends, right? You are always impressing me with the things you do. By the way, love the shopping bags. Love, Cathy Lewis

This reminds me of when I was in college when my roommate and I decided to decorate our living room wall with a very large map. We would sit and dream about the countries we would visit someday after we graduated college and had real jobs that could support our desire to travel. Framing it is a great grown up way to display it. So much better than the sagging piece of paper we had stuck to the wall with a few tacks!

Michelle is so creative, I have a map that I plan on hanging in my home but using 2 colored pins; 1-places my hubby and I have been together and 2-places our family have been together.
It’s also a great conversation piece.

I am a huge fan of maps as art. I bought 2 vintage maps in Ashland, Oregon, one of Paris and SF, and they are currently my most favorite pieces of wall art that I own.

Oh, I can’t tell you how much I love this. My grandparents had made one similar to this decades ago. My grandma even put together collections of coins from the countries they had been and framed them. Ah, memories. Wonderful post, thank you!
